Hi!

My name is Jicky, 19 years old and from the Netherlands. I graduated high school a few years back and I've been trying to figure out what I want to do with my life since.

Traveling the world always seemed like a cool but unrealistic thing to do, yet here I am, on the other side of the world. I worked for a year and a half and finally decided to go ahead and get on a plane, which so far has led me to England and now New Zealand.

One thing to know about me is that I LOVE music. I'm always up for concerts and will check out any recommendation sent my way. I've seen quite a few artists live so far, as I believe it's the best way to experience songs.

In my free time I love exploring, binging shows, shopping, hiking, horseriding, taking (bad) pictures and hang out with friends (and animals, especially dogs).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet new people and get the know the places from the people who live there. Make new connections and experience travel in a different and hopefully even more fun way.

Interests

My two absolute favorite things in the world are traveling and music. I've been to many concerts in the past few years and I've traveled for some of them as well.

At the moment I don't know what I want to study, what I want for my future and I'm a bit lost so I figured this is a perfect time to travel and see if I can figure it out along the way.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music-wise I listen to a lot of bands, pop music and singer/songwriter type stuff, but I enjoy a good dnb house or techno mix too.

For movies I'm really not picky, as long as it's entertaining. Recently I've been really into rom coms!

And for books, I'm a sucker for a sappy lovestory or a good crime/investigation type story, but I'm easily entertained.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visit Norway. That's the most amazing thing I've ever done. It's so beautiful. Absolutely insane.

Walk the 4-daagse. It's a dutch walking event where you can choose to walk either 30, 40 or 50 km for 4 days with thousands of people. I walked the 30/120km with my mom and it's one of the most intense but coolest things I've ever done.

I can teach you some dutch, things about my country and I don't really know what else ☺️

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm tidy, not too bad a cooking and I can enjoy cleaning and washing up. I don't smoke ,but I'm usually up for a drink.

I can teach you about the Netherlands, the dutch language and about the culture. It really is a beautiful country.
