Overview
About Me
Hi! My name is Yann, I am a French young professional living in Brussels and super keen on getting to know more of the world and it’s people!
I like to travel on my own or with friends. I am definitely looking to meet new people who could host me while I'm traveling.
I am open-minded, ready to learn things, not afraid of new experiences and I am someone respectful and clean. I would love to have a talk and share experiences together but if you don't have the time or would rather be on your own it is perfectly fine with me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing because I am looking for a new way to travel. Studying abroad gave me the will to meet people with different cultures, experiences, adventures, stories, and backgrounds and with whom I‘d like to share. I would like to be hosted somewhere I could feel welcomed and be able to talk about travels which is, I think, a common interest for couchsurfers. I am used to traveling and booking accommodations - especially when I am with friends - but I’ve noticed Couchsurfing gives such another dimension to a trip and honestly now that I am not a student anymore it’s more about the people and less about saving so let me know about any financial compensation or gifts you would like.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I like the best in every genre but I have a thing for thrillers and films noirs.
Music: independent and alternative rock according to Spotify, which goes from Arctic Monkeys to Lana Del Rey.
Books: no favorite book but I am really interested in social and political topics tackled by authors such as Annie Erneaux or Édouard Louis.
Since I work in the performing arts I also attend all kinds of contemporary dance and theatre performances.
I am big in listening podcasts while walking around too.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveling 3 months across Asia with my family (Singapore, Malaysia, Philipines, South Korea) during the summer with our backpacks. I eventually got stung by a jellyfish in a beach paradise in Palawan Island, Philipines.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you some French, I was a teacher assistant in the US. I can teach you some dance since I was a ballet dancer in France, but most importantly I believe I am good at having conversations and listening to stories, while cooking and having a few drinks.
I would like to learn about you, what brought you here and where you have been. I would like to learn about where you come from and about the city you live in. I would love to learn a bit about languages such as Dutch, Italian or German to begin with since I only speak French English and Spanish.
I would like to share my culture and my thoughts so if you are comfortable with it, I like knowing and discussing people's ideas and views on society.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share what I know and my experiences from the above and many more. I would definitely like to help with your house, the dishes, cooking etc... and of course inviting you to the restaurant. I LOVE food so I could actually also cook a few things too!
