About Me
Hello there! I am an adventurous American on a "Gap Year". I spent the first half of my gap year working as an Au Pair in Australia and am now exploring the Mediterranean region.
As far as education and work experience go, I have my Bachelor of Arts, with a double major in English and Spanish, from Portland State University and a Master of Education from Portland State's Graduate School of Education. After getting my degrees, I became a Peace Corps Volunteer, in Nicaragua, where I worked as an 8th grade English teacher and earned my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate. I am now creating content as a travel blogger for YouTube, Instagram and Wordpress. Feel free to check out my work by searching "Andrea René Abroad"!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am Couchsurfing because in my experience it has always been the best way to learn about the places I visit. I very much recognize the value of staying with locals! I have lived with host families in Nicaragua, Australia and Turkey and enjoy the experience of living with host country nationals very much!
