Overview
About Me
My name is Annina. I‘m from Switzerland, the germanspeaking part. That’s why I speak Swissgerman and German as my native languages, I‘m fluent in English and able to have a conversation in French. I would like to learn Spanish or Italian.
I grew up in Stein am Rhein, a village next to the German boarder. It‘s famous for it‘s oldtown and attracts every year more than a million tourist. As a child I couldn’t understand the hype about it. Now as I turned older and have seen a lot of places around the world, I understand why. It’s really nice and unique. So if you have the chance to visit it, do it and contact me. I’m happy to be your tourguide 😊. I love chocolate. At home I often eat it after lunch or dinner. So I totally fulfill that stereotype about Swiss people.
I would describe myself as a friendly, cheerful, enthusiastic, honest and open-minded person. For the next couple of months you will meet me somewhere around the world, but for sure not in Switzerland 😉...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to meet new people from different countries. It’s interesting to hear their stories, learn about their cultures or have an interesting discussion. Furthermore while traveling I like to meet local people, who live in the area, so that I get an insight and gain more knowledge about the country I'm traveling in.
Interests
I enjoy reading, playing board games, hanging out with friends, having a delicious meal served with a good wine, hiking in the mountains, playing the theater or watch it, skiing or snowboarding in wintertimes and playing the piano, but I’m still a beginner. At the top of these traveling - oh I love traveling!
Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy reading, but often I don’t have enough time in my daily schedule. While reading I love to dive into this new world. It‘s a bit like traveling. The difference is you just can do it from your couch at home :-).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well there are a numbers of moments I wouldn’t want to miss. Just some experience I recently made: My first dive, after a couple of minutes when I realised I‘m really capable of breathing under water and I started to feel comfortable then I could see all the different fishes and colours of the corals - I felt like in a huge aquarium with a total new world and sometimes face to face with a fish. When surfing, the moment when you feel the wave beneath you and you know you‘re gonna take it and even can stand it! Lately I could feel a kick from an unborn baby of a close friend if mine!
Teach, Learn, Share
You‘ll never have finished learning, no matter how old you are. I personally like to learn new things or at least to try them out. Recently I just started diving, which is a great experience!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A thankful handshake, an honest smile, a nice conversation, hopefully lots of laughter and maybe some Swiss chocolate 🍫, if I have some with me.
