About Me
Hello there!
My name is John. I am 19 years old and from the beatiful city Hamburg in Germany. I just graduated from highschool and decided to spent some time in Latin America to explore the many diverse cultures, the astonishing nature and gain some Spanish skills before I start studying biology in Germany.
In the first couple of months I will be accompanied by my good friend Moritz. He just got back from his first backpacking trip in South East Asia and has many interesting stories to tell.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'd like to see latin america through the eyes of locals. I believe there is no better way to get to know cultures than by spending time with the people that actually live there. I've only heard positive things about couchsurfing so far and I am really looking forward to the upcoming time!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to listen to all different kinds of music. I think there's not one genre I can't get along with. I listen to Latin American music mainly though, that's why I am eager to learn to dance Salsa and Bachata.
I like to read a lot, for example the adventure novels of Jack London and the philosophical writings of Hermann Hesse.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbing the Table Mountain was really fun. My legs were sore for days afterwards but the amazing view on Cape Town made it totally worth it.
Teach, Learn, Share
As I said before I'd really like to learn to dance Bachata and Salsa, besides from that I hope I can learn to cook some traditional meals and practice my Spanish.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love having a good talk about travel experiences, adventures and cultures while having food and beer or wine.
I can teach some German and English.
