Hi there! By day I work as the administrative support for a project that helps kids deal with trauma. By night I am a dog and cat rescuer; I get dogs out of a high kill shelter in Texas and help find them homes all over the country. I also do rescue dispatch for natural disasters. I am a pretty good cook, and a foodie. I also love reading, am a writer, and love exploring new places.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My roommate and I are planning a trip to Egypt in 2020. We are planning on going to Giza, Wadi El Hitan, and Siwa. I am very into paleontology and I can't wait to see those fossils! I am also interested in history and the overall culture of Egypt. We are looking to get in contact with people in those areas to see who we can go explore with! (And perhaps smoke some hashish with..? ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a diverse taste in music. I like everything from classical to some rap, and everywhere inbetween (not a fan of country western, though there are some exceptions). Lately I have been listening to a mix of Cake, Billy Joel, Snoop Dogg, and a lovely 80's rock playlist.

Movies are one of my things. There is nothing better than having an afternoon off and going, by myself, to the theater to go watch a movie. I like action, some comedy, drama, love sci-fi/fantasy. Not a fan of horror, some comedy, or romance.

Books... any well-written fiction. I love science fiction and fantasy. My favorite book to date is still 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea by Jules Verne. I read a lot of classics. I also read a lot of modern fiction as well. I am a fan of R.A. Salvatore, Neil Gaiman, Jules Verne, Kristen Britian, Anne Mccaffery, Terry Pratchett, and lots of others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Dispatched rescues for people and animals during four hurricanes and one ridiculously oversized fire.

This year I have either directly or through networking saved about 70 dogs and cats from being euthanized in a high kill shelter.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My sense of humor. Our adventures; want to see some fossilized whale bones in the desert? I am also a pretty good cook,and I have fun doing it.
