Hi! I’m Hazal. I studied International Relations with dream of being an ambassador but when I graduated I noticed that my passion is meeting new people, learning new cultures, visiting different countries, not being a political figure. So after graduating I did totally different things than politics like working in an event management department for a NGO, volunteering in international dance festivals, food banks in Turkey and I also did my EVS (European Voluntary Service) volunteering in Poland. Finally I worked as an AuPair in Germany for one year and after studying Digital Technology and Management here I have started working in IT Project Management field. I live in Germany since 5 years, found the love of my life and got married. But my husband prefers well planned trips with knowing where to stay and so on, so I am using couchsurfing only for my spontaneous solo trips to explore new cultures.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really enjoy listening the band called Bukahara but I also enjoy classic music and folkloric music. My personal favorites are Balkan and Gypsy music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hitchhiked in Norway. From Oslo to Bergen and from Bergen to Oslo (960 km in total).

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been dancing for 13 years. I worked as a Turkish Folk Dance teacher for different ages in different organizations. I had an oriental dance class in Poland during my EVS volunteering. If anyone interested in Turkish traditional dances, I will be very happy to teach. I love to learn new traditional dances, so if you have a few moves to show, I am always interested.
