About Me

Just a chill open-minded guy. I'm Italian/Chinese-Indonesian, as such I have been blessed with being exposed to three cultures. The only "drawback" is that I cannot find a place to call HOME xD I actually don't think home is necessarily the place you were born or raised in, but the place where you can find yourself and live your own way. Amazing people is the other component that makes the equation work perfectly.

I love music. IT all started with a Mozart CD. Then came the Beatles. Finally came the Rolling Stones and my fateful descent into rock began. As a teenager I listened to metal mostly and dreamed of becoming a legendary guitar shredder. Then before choosing uni I wanted to become an audio engineer. Few years later today I have achieved none of that but I enjoy music in all its forms (there's still some things I dislike though lol).

Other than music I enjoy watching movies, learning new IT technologies, moving (I have to at least take a walk every day), NEETing on the Internet watching useless (sometimes useful) videos or reading.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think CS is a terrific platform for meeting generous and open-minded people. People who are moved by the desire of living new experiences, meeting new people, discovering new places... Sharing is the key.

I did register on CS few years ago, but I didn't use it much because I wasn't living in a favorable condition to host. Last year I moved to a better place but then Covid struck :/ Finally now it seems like there is opportunity to host.

I'm planning to be away from home some weeks or weekends over the next months (if the situation permits). I'll try to keep my calendar updated.

Music, Movies, and Books

Nowadays all kind of music; rock and jazz are my favorites. I'm always open to discover more interesting stuff.

I have a pretty long list now of movies (https://letterboxd.com/roby_wan/). I'm trying to get into more artistic, cult kind of movies. Cliche' formulaic movies don't attract me that much anymore.

Recently have restarted reading books after a veeeery long hiatus, you can see my modest list here https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/135362400-robywan
