Overview
About Me
I'm Gaia, a 21 year-old college student from Italy.I was born in Siena and grew up in the countryside nearby. I'm an only child (if you don't consider my cat as a entitled to be considered a brother, which I do :) ). I've been living for the past three years away from home to pursue my dream, which is to become a professional interpreter (German and English) and to learn the trade. I'm therefore living in Forlì, a small town near Bologna. I love the atmosphere over there and the fact that I met people from Italy which ended up meeting people with similar aims as mines. Anyway, I'm keen on learning and traveling and well aware of the fact the former is the counterpart of the latter. I love talking as you may have already have guessed from the way I write and I love meeting new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to meet new people and to share my passions and my love for multiculturalism with the world. I wanna know more about people out there, as this is to me one of the major factors behind acceptance and empathy. I like the idea of trusting people and bring down useless barriers we too often build on the basis of prejudice and narrow mentalities and social biases which all are but a huge misanderstanding of the world. And, finally and much more easily to explain, I'm here because I want to travel and live the places I'll visit entirely and fully consciuously of the environment making them the spots they are.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music and I play piano even if I had to give up on it when I moved from home. I love reading any type of book (and, please don't judge me, I love smelling books in libraries ahahah sorry about that I know it sounds a bit creepy). My favourite book is A Christmas Carol. Oh, and I sing, basically all the time but my favourite professional stage is the shower.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, I don't know. I guess studying and working hard is what makes me who I am. That definitely makes me feel full and glad to have had the opportunity of learning more and more every day and to enrich myself.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer who I am: a hardworker who would do anything to learn and improve herself, both as a student and as a human being. I can cook Italian food and talk a lot about my experiences and share other aspects of my life. I'm passionate about helping and I'd be so thankful and grateful for your kindness to host me that I'd do anything I can to help in the home with everything I may be needed for.
