While being in a foreign country it is always a huge pleasure to meet people that know the area and the culture, giving one an authentic insight into the life there.

For me, that is what couchsurfing is all about - a mutual interest in new people and an exchange of stories and ideas, that broaden one's understanding of the world we live in and the beautiful diversity of the people in it.

Staying in a hotel or doing the touristic tours is not something that I enjoy, and so I much rather turn to the options of experiencing the country more authentically, like working in a project that helps the local community, or staying with local people and sharing experiences.

I really enjoy outdoor sports like hiking, climbing, cycling and more recently surfing, but also find a lot of joy in the little things - like cooking together, going for a stroll around the city and seeing the places that are especially known and loved by the people who live there.
