Hi y'all! I'm Fabio!

I am a 27 year old guy and the only clear purpose that I have for the moment is that I want to travel and see the world.
For two years I lived in a smal town in Connecticut, US , teaching Spanish at a university. Although I love teaching, I realized that a sedentarian and consumer lifestyle is not for me right now, so I left the academia, took my backpack and decided to start a nomadic lifestyle and travel (I'd like to say "travel the world" but the world is too big so I prefer doing small steps!). I try to make a living by combining a few Spanish online lessons and different jobs that I find on the way.

I always find it hard to talk about my interest! I like languages, history, literature, cinema, paints, yoga, nature, soccer, etc. Recently, I also started to get very interested into the buddhist philosophy; I am amazed about some of its principles and I would like to try and some of them to my life. I'd like to find people who I can practice meditation in a nice environment. Apart from that, I also feel that minimalism makes my life better so I try to live in a minimalist way.

One of the best part of my trips is the people I get to know on the way and the things that we learn when when interacting with each other. That is why I feel like couchsurfing is such a beautiful way to do, so I can share my time, space and ideas with other people (or animals!)

Hola! Soy Fabio

Soy un chaval de 27 años y mi único propósito claro en la vida por el momento de viajar y ver el mundo.
Durante dos años he vivido en un pequeño pueblo de Connecticut, EEUU, enseñando español en una universidad. Aunque me encanta enseñar, me di cuenta de que un estilo de vida sedentario y consumista no va conmigo, así que dejé la academia, cogí mi mochila y decidí empezar un estilo de vida nómada y así viajar por el mundo. Intento ganarme la vida combinando clases de español online con trabajillos que voy enganchando por el camino.

Siempre me cuesta hablar sobre mis intereses, decidirme y concretar sobre tantas cosas... Me gustan los idiomas, la historia, la literatura, el cine, la pintura, el yoga, la naturaleza, el fútbol, etc. Recientemente he empezado a interesarme por la filosofía budista: me flipan algunos de sus principios y me gustaría probar a aplicar algunos a mi vida. Sería genial encontrar gente con la que poder practicar meditación en un ambiente agradable. Aparte de eso, también siento que el minimalismo me hace la vida más fácil e intento vivir acorde.

Una de las mejores partes de mis viajes es la gente que conozco por el camino y las cosas que aprendemos del otro cuando interactuamos. Por eso creo que Couchsurfing es una manera perfecta para hacerlo, y así compartir tiempo, espacio e ideas con otras personas (o animales!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love knowing people from different parts of the world: their willings, their culture, how they live, their differences and similarities, and try to approximate to the life of a person who lives in that place.

That's why I think Couchsurfing is a great option to open my mind and learn about people.

Me encanta conocer gente de diferentes partes del mundo: sus motivaciones, su cultura, cómo viven, sus diferencias y similitudes con otros, e intentar aproximarme a la vida de una persona que vive en el lugar que visito.
Por eso creo que Couchsurfing es un lo idóneo para tener una mente abierta y aprender sobre otros.

Music, Movies, and Books

I would like know more about movies but I have seen many more TV shows. Some of them would be: Breaking Bad, Ozarks,Prison Break, The Boys, Bojack Horse,an, Rick and Morty, South Park or One Piece.

I like different literature genres (romance, poetry, drama). My favourite writers could be: Angélica Lidell, Laila Ripoll, Alejandra Pizarnik,, García Lorca, García Márquez, César Vallejo, Girondo...

Regarding painters, I love Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Goya, Khalo, Dalí, Remedios Varo... I really like surrealist and expresionist paintings.

Regarding music I like many different styles: Rock, Reggae, Flamenco, Hip-hop, Jazz and even Reggaeton!

Me encantaría haber visto más películas pero he visto más series, estas son algunas: Breaking Bad, Ozarks,Prison Break, The Boys, Bojack Horse, Rick and Morty, South Park o One Piece.

Me gustan diferentes géneros literarios (novela, poesía, teatro). Algunos de los escritores que más me gustan son: Angélica Lidell, Laila Ripoll, Alejandra Pizarnik, García Lorca, García Márquez, César Vallejo, Girondo...

En pintura me gustan mucho Michelangelo, Caravaggio, Goya, Khalo, Dalí, Remedios Varo... Me encanta la pintura surrealista y expresionista.

En música, escucho estilos muy diferentes: Rock, Reggae, Flamenco, Hip-hop, Jazz y también Reggaeton!

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach you languages: Spanish (as I am a certified teacher with experience), and help you with English or Italian. I can also talk to you about literature or show you how to play soccer if you want!

I would love to learn portuguese or chinese and about yoga, meditation, budhism and new cooking recipees!

Puedo enseñarte alguna lengua: español (soy profesor certificado y con experiencia) o ayudarte con el inglés o el italiano. También puedo hablarte de literatuar o enseñarte a jugar al fútbol si quieres!

Me encantaría aprender portugués o chino y también sobre yoga, meditación, budismo y alguna receta de cocina!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

When I have a place I have hosted friends and CS people and it's been great! Now that I am travelling and I don't have a personal space, I am often not able to host anybody.

Regarding me as a guest, I am not fussy at all about the place: I can sleep in a sofa, and I can offer a good company, cook you some traditional Spanish food :)

Cuando he tenido sitio he hospedado gente de CS y muchos amigos y ha estado de lujo. Ahora que estyo viajando no tengo un espacio personal así que no suelo poder acoger gente.

Sobre mí como viajero, no soy para nada exigente: me acoplo en cualquier sofá. Creo que una persona que te ofrece su techo y su espacio sin pedirte dinero ya es acto de generosidad increíble. Puedo ofrecer una buena conversación y cocinar un buen plato de comida española :)
