Hey, travellers and lovely hosts!

My name is Monika and I recently graduated in Arts Management, where I am continuing on to a master's degree. During my bachelor's degree, I had an exchange semester in Oslo - Norway, where I was led primarily by my interest in Norwegian, and secondly by the fjords and northern lights. Currently, I work as a Marketing manager at Discover, a NGO that organizes Summer Academy Camp fo highschool students to support them in their self-discovering and learning journey. Since 2019, I've been engaging myself in such youth organizations, since it brings the most joy & fulfillment to my life. On top of that, I work as an booking & PR manager for a young pop-rock band.

For 11 years, I played competitive volleyball, devoted myself to acting and wrote scripts for music and educative videos. When I am not thinking about how to do a little bit of everything and nothing properly at the same time, I travel, learn to invest and do cold showers and cold swims.

I like to travel on my own with my boyfriend or friends and especially, I love to participate in Erasmus+ projects, where I got to meet young people from 5+ different countries at one time.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

World means people to me and so does travelling. Meeting local people and other travellers abroad makes me love the world even more & makes me feels like home anywhere on Eearth.

As for now, I am unfortunately not able to offer my couch to surf on (i am not living at my own place).

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: I'm now into Blitz Union (industrial metal), which is a Czech band and I think that you should check them (I am not a metal person but I love this).

FILM: I will always love watching The Pirates of Caribbean and it's just going to stay like that. Since I was little, I have also loved the comedy "The Police Academy". My guilty pleasure is to watch teenage dramas when I am feeling down, haha :)

BOOKS: Recently I enjoy reading non-fiction books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been swimming in the Artic Ocean in Svalbard in the winter and also in the Norwegian sea (Landegode/Bodø) in winter, I've been climbing on glaciers in Jostedal, Norway and I've climbed up the Great Wall in China.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn about life in your country, your culture & traditions & especially language, learn some nice new recipes, hike together, and on personal level learn more about finance & investing and leadership&management,...and also learn whatever is new to me that I don't yet know I wanted to learn :)
