About Me

My name is Laura, and I'm a french physiotherapist. I only work on hands injuries and upper limb accidents. I worked at a hospital and I recently left my job to travel and see how my collegues in other countries are working.

When I'm not moving around I'm playing volleyball in a feminin or mixt championship. I also sing in a trio. We cover traditionnal songs mostly from Eastern Europe, you can check our instagram here :

I also love hiking, skiing, reading, playing games, well.. I can be curious and enthousiastic about everything, as long as it doesn't involve biking down a mountain, which scares me a lot actually!

I started, early november, a trip with my boyfriend Jérémy. We reached Turkey in 3 months, mostly by hitchhiking. We both love traditional musics and dances, hiking and adventure. Now Jérémy is back to France for his job, and I'm pursuing my physiotherapist project alone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing to meet people, and above all discover different aspects of culture. I want to share music, food, stories and tells. It's not that easy to meet local people when you're sleeping under a tent or staying at a hostel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love watching movies, but I haven't seen a lot. Except for Miyazaki's movies: I love it all!

I read a lot, from detective novels to strip cartoon. I also read classical books. Murakami is one of my favorite writers (another Japanese artist, and I've never been to Japan !)

And here comes music .... I don't even know where to start, I listen to music all the time. On my phone, computer, or in my head. I sing a lot too. Traditional songs but also folk (love Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Peter Paul and Mary), pop, rock, french variety... Almost everything but metal music (I'm trying to get use to it 'cause Jérémy loves it, and I love Jérémy so...).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This year Jérémy and I achieved a 2 weeks hike across Corsica Island, which was really physical and technical. It was hard but we laughed a lot, and met many great people along the hike.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new songs, and I can teach some traditional polyphonic songs.
