About Me

EAT - SURF - TRAVEL - REPEAT! :)
I am a very passionate person, and does not do anything half-heartedly. I really enjoy travelling and being outdoors and going on adventures such as hiking, camping, etc. I have visited several countries in my lifetime and I wish to add many more to the list. Countries that I have visited include: Wales, Scotland, England, France, Italy, Switzerland, Namibia, Lesotho, Mozambique, Tanzania (including Zanzibar and Latham Island), Thailand, Indonesia (including Bali and the Mentawai Islands), Malaysia (including Langkawi), and Singapore.

I was born and raised in East London, South Africa, into a family of 4, including an older brother (Michal, age 28). I am currently 25 years old and reside in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. After matriculating from high-school in 2011, I decided to take a year break and to travel and spend some time on developing myself as well as finding out where my tertiary education would take me. In 2014 I pursued to study at Nelson Mandela University, where I later graduated with a BSc degree in Construction Economics. I am currently completing my final year of my Honours degree in Quantity Surveying.

I really enjoy the ocean and have been surfing since I was 8 years old. I competed professionally for several years, and had quite a successful career. Now, I just surf for pleasure and the fun of being in the ocean. I also enjoy water activities, including wakeboarding and skiing, scuba diving, fishing, etc.

After my studies I plan on completing more Yachting courses and plan on working on the super yachts (probably France) as soon as possible.

I feel that life sometimes cannot be planned, and one just has to go with the flow :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing in order to meet new people, from other parts of the world, that have the same mentality as me about travelling and meeting new people and seeing new places. I tend to build connections around the globe, to show other people my beautiful country of South Africa, and for them to get a true South AFrican experience. One day, hopefully the favour can be returned to me, and I get to see places that I've always wanted to visit.

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page..."

Come and see South Africa in all its beauty! :)
