About Me

Hello! :) My name is Przemek and my main activity in live is being curious about the world and living beings that populate it. I try to do things that help me foster my curiosity and give it direction that would allow me to discover what has not yet been discovered, and experience what has not yet been experienced. At least within the confines of my own personal universe.... ;)
Bringing things back to more immediate reality - I'm an English teacher with quite a long and wast experience in teaching my students and learning from them. Quite recently, I started my training as a professional copywriter which allows me to get more and more in touch with my creative self and gives me a starting point to explore new perspectives of looking at things and people that are involved in doing them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well, the simplest answer is that I want the learn about the world and about how people are doing things they're doing. That's so enthralling! I hold this learning process in a very high esteem! Furthermore, I strongy believe that being open to new experiences, aside from the fact that it just feels great, allows you to get more in touch with yourself which in turn enables you to see more about others.

Music, Movies, and Books

At this point of my life I would say that I like many different kinds of music that can evoke certain emotions that I feel I need the most at a particular time. I used to favour rock in the past (Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Fields of The Nephilim, Nick Cave) but currently I'm more prone to explore different flavours of musical landscapes so I also listen to modern jazz (Diana Krall, Norah Jones, Hooverphonics), dream pop (Julee Criuse, The Chromatics), ambient music (Brian Eno, Biosphere, Future Sound of London), and many more...

When it comes to movies, I really like the creations of David Lynch, especially "Lost Highway". I absolutely adore Ridley's Scott masterpiece "Blade Runner" for its visuals, music and brilliant atmosphere! I love Richard Linklater's trilogy: "Before Sunrise", Before sunset', and "Before Midnight". I have special time with Woody Allen's films, "At midnight in Paris" would be the greatest example. I get thrills with Werner Herzog's "Nosferatu" or Ken Russell's "Gothic".... And I'm also quite a big fan of "Back To The Future" and "Star Wars" ;)

In case of books, I always try to find a certain atmosphere that is a combination of being in presence of unpenetrable mistery that evokes both intangible fear and excitement about exploring new frontiers of what could be described as the known space of experience. I love books by Polish author Stanislaw Lem, with special feelings for "Solaris". I really admire works of John Fowles, and let "The Magus" be an example. I love Robert Anton Wilson's elaborations on the absurdity of reality. And, last but not least, I love to pierce through the loneliness that await for a reader in the works of Herman Hesse in order to find hope that springs at the end of them.
Ahhh, I would forget, I absolutely adore Andrzej Sapkowski's books, especially "The Witcher" series! :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, I believe it is still going to happen ;) But maybe... bungee jump! Yeah, that was preety scary and preety cool in the end. ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

Sure :) If someone wants to know more about me and my perceptions of the world around I will definitely share what I've learnt so far.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well, I can offer my help in the area of language sopport... or I can offer to write something to someone at some point in order to get that someone inerested in that something that I wrote in the first place... ;)
And, of course, I'm sending my greetings! :)
