About Me
Hey!
My name is Hümeyra, but that’s typically too difficult for most people to pronounce, so it’s just Hümi. I‘m 21 and even though I started studying, a perfect life for me would just be traveling around the world. I live in the western part of germany and I love getting out of my comfort zone. That’s why I quit after my first year in law school and started working in a charity organization for a year. I was even able to travel to a few countries to visit projects like an orphanage in Ghana or to provide emergency aid after the explosion in Beirut. Those experiences meant so much to me, helping people, putting a smile on their face and getting to know them just made me so happy. That’s why I also started studying social work right now. With my studies I unfortunately don’t have time to also work full time in a charity organization, so that’s why I want to travel on my own as much as I can. I love to see new countries, meet new people and learn about different cultures! My best experiences while traveling where always when I got to spend time with some locals, so that‘s what I think is so fun about Couchsurfing.
Some things about my and my interests is that I really love sports. Right now I love going to the gym, dancing or martial arts. I have a big love for good food and especially when I’m on vacation I don’t want to miss out on traditional food, even though I love to cook and trying out new recipes. I also love arts, I even paint myself but that’s one of the things I never find time for. Whenever I have some free time I try to catch up and meet with my friends and family. And of course I love traveling and everything about it like having fun with strangers, laughing with people at the hostel, getting lost in the streets, trying new foods, learning new things and maybe winning some really good friends.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I remember that one time the airbnb owner didn’t show up and my friends and I ended up on the street. Some very kind hearted family just invited us for tea and then offered us to stay. We had such a great time with them, learned how to cook some meals, went to the beach together and made some new friends! After that I heard about the idea of Couchsurfing and that’s basically the same thing, so I’m all in for other experiences like that!
Interests
I’m really interested and open for everything. I mean yeah a lot of people just say that but I have so many interests. It goes from sports to dancing to singing to making music to making art to discovering new places to playing chess and the list goes on ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
I love books from stephen king, john green, sebastian fitzek or really any random books that are good. I also watch any kind of series that go from american series to korean or turkish series. As music I love hip hop, rnb, afro beats and reggaeton.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I think the best experiences happen when it’s spontaneous. When I was traveling with some friends trough marocco we decided to randomly meet a car and go to the Ouzoud waterfalls. I think these where also the first ever waterfalls I ever saw and it was soo beautiful. We decided to camp there the best thing was meditating at the waterfalls in Ouzoud while the sun rises and right after swimming there.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love cooking and I can also not only cook for you from time to time but also teach you some of the dishes that I cook. (I mean that’s a win/win situation because who doesn’t love food ;))
I really want to learn how to play guitar so if you can then I would love to take some lessons! Other than that you can maybe teach me your language or show me something about your culture. 😍
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook for you and teach you anything else that you want to learn from me.
I can also offer some bad jokes, deep talks and telling you storys or exchanging experiences.
