About Me
Hi,
My name is Tosia, I will be 19 in June :) I am Polish and about to finish high school, in September I am probably going to start university in Netherlands (bachelor in European Studies or International Relations and Organisations). It has always been my dream to study abroad so I am very excited but also a bit scared, it is a big change after all.
I have two younger siblings and two cats, however I consider myself a dog person, no question ;)
I have many interests and hobbies, I love windsurfing and I used to play a lot tennis. Since my parents both work in the movie industry, I've been in love with cinema since I was a kid, for a long time that was what I wanted to do when I grow up:) I've also been going to art classes pretty much all my life and for a long time that was what everyone expected me to do in the future, however I stopped but I still consider art as one of my biggest passions in life:)
I am generally a very chill person, easy going and very open mined. I like to party and also like to smoke and chill with friends.
I love meeting new people and already have a bunch of friends all over the world. I am up to pretty much everything and I love trying new things. I am in a very chaotic place in my life (lots and lots of changes) and I know from experience that travel has always brought me peace and so much satisfaction. That is way I am so eager to do it :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As I am now ending a pretty big chapter of my life and becoming and adult, I am facing a lot of changes and in all that chaos traveling feels like something I need and want to do. So I've been exploring all different kinds of travel - workaways, voluntary work abroad and stumbled upon couchsurfing as well. I wanna see as much of the world as possible, experience different cultures, cuisines, learn new languages and meet people from all over the world. So any platform that helps me do it is a great opportunity.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have so so so many movies and books that I love and right now I probably won't remember even half of them ;)
However some of the movies that I love are - "Amelie", "Moulin Rouge" - which I saw as a 12 year old girl and have loved it ever since, recently I loved "The Favourite", "La grande bellezza" - a masterpiece!, "Grand Budapest Hotel" in general I love Wes Anderson, "The Doors", "Whiplash", "Amadeus", "Into the wild", "Natural Born Killers", "Capitan Fantastic", "Truman Show", "12 Angry Man" !!! And many many more, I could go on without stopping.
Concerning books one of my favourites are definitely - "New Brave World", "Slaughterhouse-Five", "Snow" by Orhan Pamuk and I also used to love Jo Nesbo's books.
When it comes to music I listen to almost every genre there is, I love indie rock and have been growing listening to The Killers. My first ever real concert was Foster The People and they became a huge deal for me. I listen to a lot of old hits, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s music but I also enjoy EDM and like some jazz, alternative music, rap.
As you can probably tell I am a mixture of everything:)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I don't know if it's that amazing but I lived in Canada for more than a month when I was 17, learning French in Quebec and it was my first ever solo trip to a country that far away from home. I was very proud of myself, not many people at that age in my environment would have the courage to do it. And also that trip opened my eyes on many subjects and made me realise how much I love to travel. So last year I decided to go on another solo trip this time to Portugal and I also had the time of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I eager to learn us much as I can about other cultures and exchange different point of views. I excited to learn some new languages and get to know different traditions, I will also happily tell all I know about my country:) I am very excited to learn about your travels and we can hopefully learn from each other!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my many many stories, teach you some polish you want to ;) share experiences and tell you about my polish culture and traditions. I enjoy very much talking about philosophy, politics so I can definitely share some of my ideas :))
