About Me

Call me Ha or even better, Hà 🙂 Luu is my last name so please do not include it when calling me, nor misspell my name in any way.

PLEASE NOTE: I’ll ONLY respond to those who call me correctly (still don’t know how so many people can mess up such an easy name 😞) It shows that you read my profile as an effort to get to know me as a person, and not just hit me up because I live in a “cool” city.

Born and raised in Hanoi, Vietnam, I take great pride in our city’s cuisine including pho, banh mi and spring rolls. I am Vietnamese but I have lived in Tokyo for 6 years, first for university and now for work.

I’m a mergers & acquisitions analyst living in Tokyo, Japan. I’m highly ambitious, detail-oriented and responsible at work, and a very independent, courteous and tidy traveler on the road.

I’m often said to be a very outdoorsy and excitable person! I love hiking, skiing swimming, reading, and journalling. On sunny days I wonder if I should go hiking or stay in and read or work on something but the hiking me always wins 🤭

I have been to 43 out of 47 prefectures in Japan, with multiple visits to all regions from north to south (7 times to Okinawa for example, but who can get enough of pristine beaches?!? 🏝️)

I like to think that I’m very familiar with both Tokyo and Japan like the back of my hand, so I have a lot to show you in the city or give you tailored itinerary suggestions and travel tips all over the country.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

If I’ve challenged myself to be a female solo traveler, why not sign up to meet and form connections with lovely souls on the road?

Because I’m sharing my apartment with 2 roommates in Tokyo and my landlord has strict rules about maximum capacity, plus it’s a 1h+ commute from downtown, it’s not feasible to host.

But I really want to pay it forward to reciprocate all the kind help I have received when I get hosted, so the least I can do is I would be more than happy to see you and show you the best spots if you’re in Tokyo!
