About Me

Hey fellow couch suffers!
We are an adorable couple from Denmark, that is going on our biggest adventure together so far, by traveling the east coast in a campervan.
Even though we love our own company very much, we would like to share our travel with others. We would like to get to know the people living in the areas we are visiting, so that is why we joined the Couch Surfer Community.
So, if you are interested in showing us your home and local area, we would be very thankful, and try to be great guests. We have a campervan with bedding, if you like to be free from the hassle of getting a room ready for guests. We are not any experts in the kitchen, but we can cook a decent meal, and would love to share one or two with you.
The goal for the trip is to explore as much as we can from Melbourne to Carians, before going back to Brisbane to catch the flight home to Denmark. We want to do a lot of hiking and exploring the Aussie nature, history and culture and then we would like to learn to surf.

To get to know us a little bit:

Mikkel, is 25 years old and will begin his last year of studies in September within IT and Cognition (he has a cool idea/dream on using artificial intelligence to detect mental diseases like Alzheimer’s earlier). When Mikkel wants to relax, he reads sci fi books or play the guitar, he plays a lot of blues in the moment. His biggest travel so far has been traveling through Chile in his gap year.

I’m Anne and I’m 24, I study Engineering in Denmark and this semester I have been on exchange at Swinburne University in Melbourne within Product Design Engineering. When I’m on travels I read books, not that much at home unfortunately. I also use my free time on the guitar, and love playing boardgames with friends. My biggest travel so far has been my trip to Nepal where I did some volunteer work.

We are very easy going and don’t bother to argue about unimportant everyday stuff, but we are very good at arguing about bigger things in life, especially after a few beers.
We love music festivals too, or at least we love Roskilde Festival, because that is the only festival we ever been to, but we have been there a lot and the festival has a special place in our hearts. Mikkel is actually gonna mis out on his 10th year in a row, because of our Aussie adventure! So, if you want company to go enjoy some live music, we are easy to persuade.

Anyways feel free to contact us if you would like to hang out or have us staying in your home.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because getting to know locals, is one thing I value very much, when traveling. You know the best travel experiences, is not listed in Lonly Planet.
I love traveling, because it gives perspective to my everyday life back home, I love when I realize, that what I think is normal, can be completely not normal in other cultures. By becomming a part of the SC community, I can get that experience even when I'm not traveling, by hosting and meeting up with travellers, (Important note I can't host in the moment, sorry).
