Overview
About Me
Hello! I'm João. I was born and raised in Ribeirão Preto, which is a city in the country side of the state of São Paulo, and currently I am a law student at the University of São Paulo.
- I’m someone who loves to experience different places and to meet different people, as, in my view, making friends and learning with them are the things that make our time worthwhile. I see traveling as an amazing opportunity for making these connections, as well as for seeing the beauty there is in every local history, nature and culture. There’s nothing like spending time away from anything familiar. It puts everything in perspective.
- I’m very active and practicing sports is a very important part of my life. The one I enjoy most is swimming! I have always swum throughout my life but since I got in university I started swimming competitively and I learned the thrill it is to train hard, to improve and to try to make your team win! I learned too the importance of having a team, because when you train with friends it makes it all so much better and gives a lot more meaning to everything. I also like tracking a lot and I really like running and playing tennis (although I‘m not good at all at tennis 😅).
- Watching movies is definitely one of my hobbies too. I believe I’m very sensible to art in general and watching good movies often brings me very strong emotions and very interesting reflections. We could talk about movies any day!
- I love animals, specially dogs!
- I consider myself a very easy going, curious and open minded person (I'm always down for some adventure and learning something new). For me, the simplest things are often the most special ones such as a good story or a nice sunset. I have been kindly described as very friendly and I believe I’m an easy person to connect to.
Anyway, I hope we have the chance to meet. Thank you for your interest!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm on Couchsurfing because I think it's a great opportunity to visit new places in the best way possible, as there is no better way to get to know a culture than by having the advice from locals.
