About Me

Hi, I'm Enes, a 26-year-old from Istanbul. I work at an NGO and am also a student at Istanbul University, enjoying life in one of the most vibrant and uniquely beautiful cities in the world. Traveling has always been a passion of mine, and I've been fortunate to visit countries like Dubai, Sudan, and Malaysia.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The reason I'm here is beautifully summarized in a quote from one of my favorite films, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty:
"To see the world, things dangerous to come to, to see behind walls, to draw closer, to find each other and to feel. That is the purpose of life."

I believe life is about connecting with people, discovering new places, and embracing the unknown. I'm excited to meet new friends and create memorable experiences through this platform!

Music, Movies, and Books

I have an eclectic taste in music—anything from smooth jazz to upbeat pop can make my day. As for movies, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a personal favorite (as you can probably tell from my profile). I’m also captivated by films like Into the Wild and Interstellar, which remind me to think big and embrace the journey. Books? I enjoy anything that sparks curiosity, but travel and personal development books always hold a special place in my heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent 1.5 years living in Africa, which was both humbling and life-changing. I’ve also embraced the thrill of traveling to unfamiliar places without any plans—just me, the road, and a sense of adventure. It’s amazing how much the unknown can teach you when you let it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to make a perfect cup of Turkish tea (it’s an art, not just boiling water:), share some interesting travel stories, or help you with a few Turkish phrases (trust me, knowing how to say "Merhaba" goes a long way). In return, I’d love to learn about your culture, your favorite places, and maybe steal a recipe or two from your kitchen.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good laugh, great company, and maybe a few travel tips from my adventures. If you're curious about Istanbul or Turkey, I can share some insider insights. And who knows? Maybe we’ll discover something new together during our conversations!
