About Me
In 2018-2019, my wife and I made a life-changing decision: we quit our jobs and set out on a journey through Central and South America. This was our very first international experience, and despite not knowing English or Spanish at the time, we were determined to explore the world.
For 8 months, we traveled across 11 countries and 29 cities—Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, Brazil, and finally Morocco—before returning home to Istanbul. We embraced volunteer work and used Couchsurfing along the way, which not only made our trip possible but also connected us with amazing people and unforgettable stories.
Traveling has taught us resilience, openness, and the true meaning of cultural exchange. We love sharing our Turkish culture and cuisine with others and are always excited to learn from the people we meet. Couchsurfing is a wonderful way to build global friendships, and we’re grateful to be part of this community.
Looking forward to meeting fellow travelers and hosts who believe, like us, that the world is best experienced through connection and kindness!
