I’m an Aussie who left home in Dec 2018, spent 4 months in SE Asia and 1 month in USA, traveling solo. Then I spent 2.5 years traveling and working in Canada - Living in Prince Edward Island, and Fernie, British Columbia. I met and married a Canadian in that time. After marrying we spent over a year traveling together (including living in New Zealand for a few months) before settling back in Canada. We have now recently separated, and I have decided to continue my solo adventures, this time in Europe. I will be applying for a working holiday authorization for Ireland, and looking forward to seeing more of the rest of Europe too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling to new places and to meet like-minded locals. And one day when I’m back home in beautiful Australia (or somewhere else I’ll call home), I can host also!

Interests

Animals particularly dogs, I worked at RSPCA for 7 years, the last 4 as a Senior Inspector. I really enjoy listening to live music. My fave thing to do is travel obviously! Beers and sunsets, particularly combined, make me happy!

Music, Movies, and Books

The Beatles and particularly John Lennon are my all time faves, but very varied otherwise. Lots of indie rock, heaps of Australian artists. Since leaving Australia, I haven’t kept up with much of the newer Aussie music and have relied on old faithfuls on playlists etc, I really enjoy seeing live music! Would love to find some new and local music as I’m traveling.

I do love reading and I have also gotten into listening to them on Audible too which is great for my travels. I mostly read non-fiction - a lot of biographies on inspiring people and true tales of interesting events in modern history etc.

Fave movie is Across the Universe, although musicals are not normally my cup of tea. I enjoy war and action movies, especially if it’s based on true events. I tend to watch some tv shows on Netflix more than I watch movies but.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sold 95% of my possessions, put the rest in storage and left home to go on a solo trip! After not having a permanent home for over 4 years now, I’m still enjoying the idea of endless possibilities!

Teach, Learn, Share

Spent 2 months learning Spanish, then tried to put it in practice a bit whilst traveling.. would love to continue to learn the basics and ideally become fluent in the future.

Teach? Hmm.. anybody want to learn about dog’s body language and behavior? Or anything dog related.. Haha I’m your girl! Umm I’m a great organiser? Let me loose on your book shelves, kitchen cupboards etc and they’ll be categorized and sorted in no time!

What I Can Share with Hosts

A laugh and a beer! Sorry to say, I don’t really cook.. I’m not particularly good at it, nor do I enjoy it! But I am happy to clean, not only keeping my area tidy, but I try and help out with cleaning around the house. I also like to buy my hosts a small personalized gift, or take them out for a drink.
