Overview
About Me
I was born on the foot of Mt , Ndoto under a rare chilly full moon 🌙,It was during a season of plenty ,in the Magical Northern Kenya ( Samburu) . My Mother named me Lejason ( of God). As fate would have it , it was determined many years later that my birthday is in the 3rd of April and since then ,I had a proof of being born into this world.
I was born to a humble family of seven. I was raised as a nomadic pastoralist . As a young boy , I spent so much time herding cattle moving from one place to another in search of pasture and water and did my childhood , playing with boys in the jungle, hunting wildlife..... but eventually my mother decided for us to live a more sedentary lifestyle as being nomadic was no longer Sustainable .
My Mother is the centre and pillar of my life , a Mother whose character is a strong as steel bravely took me school without uniform , shoes or any school requirements , but only a piece of cloth wrapped on my waist, my mother told me in that morning as we walked through grey bushes to Baragoi Catholic nursery that a time will come where Education will replace traditional raiding of cattle. even without going to school ,she envision a world where education will be a tool of change .
She supported us and took two intelligence boys to school and paid our fees by selling water on a donkey cat in Baragoi town.ALL WOMEN ARE LEGENDARIES.
As an adult , I became more and more observant of both positive and negative forces that influence the pastrolist community , life- outdated culture practices, exploitative, inauthentic tourism , impact of climate change and the slow onset of drought.the richness of our culture, generosity , and beauty of our land .
Coushserving enable me to meet people from various backgrounds and knowledge, my community , culture and land is in the centre of my heart.
My vision is a sustainable and productive pastrolist community and a healed world in this changing times .
I invite you to see the beauty and richness of Northern Kenya and it's culture and generosity and authenticity of its people. join me in my routes .....The Routes which are undoubtedly for Good.https://routesforgood.com/
