About Me

Mexican American who loves to travel and learn about new cultures and try new foods. I have been living in France for a year to learn a totally new culture and language. Traveling has open my mind in so many aspects. I have been able to learn so much from the countries I have gone to.
I give private English, Spanish, and Swimming lessons to travel around Europe.
Many people say they do not travel because they do not have enough money to do so. I say that is total BS, when you want to travel you will do whatever possible to do so. I never had a "lot" of money to travel to the other side of the continent, I found the way to travel and get free housing and food, by being an AuPair.
In college, I worked extra hours as a lifeguard and saved all my money. I sacrificed spending money on restaurants and would cook all the time instead. I also sacrificed spending money on alcohol in bars and would just pre-game before going to clubs. I would still go out with all my friends for shopping, but instead of buying I would save my money and be comforted with window shopping. With all of these sacrifices, I was able to buy my plane ticket from the USA to France and to pay for my visa for the year! This gets to show that EVERYBODY can travel, people just choose to spend their money differently.
Being able to live in France has also given me the opportunity to travel all around Europe. With the private lessons I give and my weekly allowance I get for being an AuPair I am able to see many places around the world.
Now I have many AuPair friends and they say they do not have a lot of money to go to different countries, and again I say that is BS. I still save money to travel, because that is what I enjoy doing. I do eat at restaurants, buy drinks at bars, and go shopping, but I do it all with moderation and the rest of the money goes to TRAVELING.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing because have learned many amazing people who love to do what I do, which is travel! It is a very easy way to see many cultures and make new friends. In Bordeaux, I have met up with many fun people and are still in touch with them. I take my time to read everybody's descriptions and when they write me a message I make sure it is personalized. This makes me know if the person really wants to meet up with me, or if they just generalize a message they have sent to hundreds of other people.
I hang out with the people who I can tell took the time to write me a message, and one who wants to see the city and willing to learn.
I enjoy showing the city I live in and I will also like to be shown around a city if I go to a different country. I do not want a place to "crash" I want to be with somebody who will enjoy cooking together, partying, walking around, or doing something that the other person enjoys to do!

Teach, Learn, Share

Knowledge is everything. The more you learn, the more successful you will be. This is why I love to teach what I know and it is so important to share what you know with the world to become better people.
As a swimming instructor, the best feeling is seeing how the adults and kids you give lessons to improve over time and once they have learned how to swim is the best feeling and is why I love to do what I do.
The same goes to my English and Spanish classes. I love seeing improvement and how they can understand way more than when we started.
I will also love to learn from people if they are successful people I love hearing their stories on how they started and I love being mentored to learn more.
