About Me

*Looking at this a few years later (I wrote it when I was 19, and now I am 24, almost 25), this description feels a bit funny to me. Yet the gist of it is still mostly true. Especially about nature, curiosity and playfulness.*

I don’t think labels we put on ourselves (“i am”) are so important- we are changing and growing constantly, and if we fixate ourselves on a certain perception, identity, we tend to hold onto it even if it doesn’t sound true anymore - at least i do. So instead i’ll share my values to be perhaps more exact in explaining who i am.

sincerity and vulnerability: i strive towards understanding and listening. I am all about understanding what’s underneath. I appreciate it above all else. But sometimes it also just feels good to only be in silence and observe the world - it’s a different layer of depth.

curiosity: constant learning. I love and find meaning in trying to understand the universe (even if it’s not actually possible).

playfulness: I am a creative soul and believe that children and learning to follow our intuition can teach us something crucial about life and ourselves. I love silly ideas.

Otherwise:
I’m 24, right now you often find me painting, walking around, studying and usually reading and writing a lot. I have many journals and am passionate about the environment and self-discovery. I can be a bit shy or quiet if I am overwhelmed.

Trees, forests, mountains and nature hold a special place in my heart.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Because i want to connect with people and learn, that is most fulfilling in travelling. I want to see out of my little box, as far as i can reach, and couchsurfing can be a nice place to learn that.

I want to host people as soon as i have my own place :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I started an online radio with a few friends, because we wanted a non-commercialised alternative that would give young people a voice and a place to vocalise what they (we) are passionate about. So proud of it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love philosophy. I love languages. Literature, psychology, culture. Art, painting, expression. I am always so excited to share whenever i learn something new.

I’ve graduated in Sinology (Chinese) and now I’m doing a masters in cognitive science. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can paint or draw you a little something;
Petting your pets :) (we’ve always had dogs around);
I can teach you a little bit about Chinese from a foreigner’s perspective;
I’m a literature enthusiast, so if you want any book suggestions or conversations about books… (or to give me suggestions as well!)

Lately I’ve also been making clay earrings and miniatures at home, and I absolutely love it! I’m trying to make more and carry them with me to gift (if I have space in my luggage). It’s so special to think about all the homes these little things might end!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Taiwan, Turkey, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
