About Me

Hi! I'm Hannah, 3rd year Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Twente in The Netherlands. I just finished my minor abroad in Troyes, France, and so I decided to hitchhike through France and Italy for the summer. Why? Because hitchhiking is the best/funnest way to travel and meet great/interesting/openminded people!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been hitchhiking for a few years now, and I absolutely love it. Couchsurfer, offers me more flexibility accomodationwise, compared to hostels, as with hitchhiking it's always incertain when exactly you will arrive somewhere. On top of that, sleeping at someone's place is that much more personal and it really gives you the change to get to know them and learn from them.

Interests

During my study abroad the past half year, I was shocked to see how much I had been stuck in my east-European buble. Through the International people that I met I got a taste of all the good stuff the rest of the world has to offer. Now I am determined to learn more about the world.

The biggest lesson that my study abroad has thought me, is that speaking just English is nog enough to get around. It can be so much more valuable if you can communicate with someone in their mothertongue. Thus, I am currently learning French and I plan to take up German at the end of the year.

Music, Movies, and Books

I absolutely love books. I don't have a favourite in particular, but you won't see me leaving for a holiday without my e-reader.
