Hi!
My name is Valters, but you can call me Walter. I'm a 21 year old student, I live in Jūrmala, but study in Rīga, Latvia. I would consider myself as an avid Latvian folklore fanatic. I dance national Latvian folk dances and I also occasionally sing. When I'm not doing that, I usually study or work in the field of civil engineering. If after all of that I have any spare time left, I try to watch a movie or go outdoors for a bit. I really enjoy going to the beach or to just stroll around the pine forest next to my house. I also enjoy riding my bicycle throughout my home town. I must also add that I am definitely no dare devil. I do like my comfort zone and I'm taking only baby steps to step out of it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been working and studying for almost a year without a break and I desperately need a holiday and since I've been wanting to go to Spain for almost three years now, I'm finally about to make it happen. It'll be a bit of a challenge for myself, since I decided to travel alone, but I'll definitely want a buddy to show me around once I get there - and that's the main reason why I joined this site.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hard to say. I quite enjoy Latvian songs and other miscellaneous artists. Of course I also listen to songs in English, Spanish, etc. But it's hard to say my favorites, because they change all the time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can easily teach some Latvian folk dances and perhaps even some songs. Certainly can help with learning a couple of words in Latvian language, which is spoken by only about 2 million people. I also happen to know a bit about my culture and heritage and I am ready to share my knowledge with anyone who's willing to listen.
