About Me

"When I decided to dance for living I did not decide, I plunged myself into indecision and doubt.
Before choosing, the vocational tests never helped me: in the pie chart all the knowledge flavors were equally favorable to me; I've never been fussy about food. Then how to decide what to have lunch and dinner for the rest of my life (excluding all other options, which I also like and also have benefits for my body)? Impossible! Dramatizing a little, it was Sophie's Choice.
However, making BA in Dance I basically discovered that life is not a monochromatic picture, and even if it were, there are countless shades of gray. I put the art color in evidence, but my other abilities and interests are still here, they did not evaporate, they compose my self-portrait.
I found in dance a way to join my qualities and defects and exploring them, because dance comes from the body and the body carries marks of its age and its experiences, the body carries history. While I dance or study about dance, I do not exclude anything from myself; each day is a new dish, a new experience and a new flavor.
I know that experimenting has its risks - I may have food poisoning or be allergic to something, but my body has antibodies, it builds carcasses and heals bruises ... So I go on and try to be coherent with myself in my choices, knowing that being consistent means also being in constant change. [...] "
The above is an excerpt from a diary I wrote in 2016, the moment in my life I discovered a depression and questioned who I was; it was when I began my first
dating, my first scientific and academic work and my first screendance ... I would say
that it was a start from a time of slow and gradual changes.
Today I know better how to differentiate the MYSELF of OTHERS, I've learned to live in a healthy solitude and to add more quality to the collective.
Today I am less afraid of being myself more and more, of relating with the world and of not knowing, not having certainties, not having opinions about everything, but constructing and changing them while I live.
