My name is Dasha, I study at the Tula Pedagogical University, I study English and French for teaching children and maybe someone older. I love music and movies of different periods of time. I really love to communicate with people from all over the world, share my views and discuss all the interesting things. Because of my studies, I can’t travel very much, but I hope that someday I will see most of our amazing planet, and my list of contacts on the phone will occupy all the memory :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't want just to travel, but communicate with people from different parts of the world, spend time with them and study the mentality of different nations from within. it’s a great way to interact with people, learn and give new skills and just enjoy life.

Interests

I love outdoor activities, sometimes I watch football and I even play it (at least I try). I also love to spend my free time with an interesting chess party. I really like reading books: classics and Russian poetry in my heart. In my free time, I volunteer and with a team of friends I go to orphanages to play with kids. I also love cinema, I often go to cinema for premieres and watch old movies at home. I am pleased to share my impressions of the movie I’ve watched, I adore to analyze the metaphysical and dialectical aspects of the movie and to discuss camera stuff. Sometimes I dream of becoming a director of a short film about our beautiful planet and people who live in peace with nature and animals. Maybe someday I will meet a person who will tell me how to do it.
But most of all I like to communicate with people and learn something new, experience cognitive dissonance in my head when my ideas about something are just supposed to be broken. I live in Russia and very often the picture that the mass media draw on tv about different countries is different from reality. Every time I understand this, I feel more and more that I am a citizen of the world and not just a Russian girl:)

Music, Movies, and Books

I am addicted to cinema, I often spend my free time watching movies. I like completely different genres. I love films by Scorsese, Woody Allen, Nolan ,Tarantino, Sorrentino, Bertolucci, Andrei Tarkovsky and many other directors. My favorite actors are Tom Hardy, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jack Nicholson, Marlon Brando, Kevin Spacey, Anthony Hopkins. Favorite Actress is Meryl Streep! My most favourite movie is One flew over the Cuckoo's nest! Also i like to watch stand up shows. Most of all i like Dylan Moran and Louis C.K:)
Music Is the thing that surrounds me everyday. I pretty much often go to music concerts and dream someday to listen U2 live!
My favourite groups are Poets of the Fall, Hurts, Queen, Cranberries, David Bowie and a lot of other guys
What about books? I guess its meaninglessness because you'll be tired in a couple of hours reading about my favourite books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to a music festival in Russia for three days in hellish weather and lived in tents with friends. Polish guys lived next to us and their tent was broken. We helped them to fix it and all three days we walked together. and when we had to go home, we promised to meet each other in Moscow and spend a wonderful vacation together. That time I realized that the world has no boundaries , only those which are in our head. The smiles of these guys made me promise to do my best to help people around and make them happy. That was my first acquaintance with guys from another country and it was only beginning!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook the most famous and delicious dishes of Russian cuisine, chat on any topic and have a great time. teach russian words. I can help with the cleaning and prepare dinner, something like that. I can also teach knitting bracelets and amigurumi toys if you are completely bored of watching cheap melodramas and soap operas on TV haha:)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Domestic help, pleasant communication, cultural interaction! I can teach you how to cook delicious Russian cuisine and a couple of Russian words (everyone knows how beautiful and powerful the Russian language is, even in its curses :) I will also be happy to make friends for a long time and meet them at Russia ( i live near Moscow, in the homeland of Leo Tolstoy)
