About Me
Hi there!
My name is Magdaléna but you can call me Magda. All my life I've been living, studying, working and spending most of my free time in Ostrava and its surrounding. Usually I'm more like a member of a stay-home-with-my-cats-club, but once or more times a year I feel like I want to explore. To wander. Not for a long time, so don't worry, I would only bother you for a night or two! But still.
Furthermore, I love to cook, bake and fry and when I don't, I think about food at least. As I work and study at the same time, I don't have much free time, but when I do, I usually spend it reading, writing, sketching, longboarding, playing bass.
I care about every living creature on this planet and the planet itself and that often makes me sad. But not for long. I bake my way out of anxiety. A nice vegan cake fixes everything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Asking for: I sometimes find myself in a need of a roof above my and my husband's head. We're quiet, neat, grateful, have an awkward sense of humour which will make your jokes 100% better and will love to hear about the specific issues of your country or yours personal passions!
Offering: As I live in quite a large flat together with my husband, mum, doggo girl and three cats, I would love to share our space, perhaps make you some vegan breakfast? You can find our appartment in the heart of Ostrava, the third biggest city of Czechia.

Music, Movies, and Books
As for music: I used to think the good stuff can only be found in history (Pink Floyd, Beatles, Doors etc). But not any more - I fell in love with many contemporary artists all across the genres. Also making my own music.
As for movies: Will always love Big Fish and other Burton's works, Milos Forman's Hair, Jarmusch's Coffee and Cigarettes and Trainspotting. Only go to big cinemas to see Marvel and Star Wars movies. For everything else I prefer smaller, 'art' theatres.
As for books: Except for sociological, anthropological and other books with professional content, my heart still beats fot the Beat Generation, Les Poètes maudits, Aldous Huxley, J. R. R. Tolkien and Moomins!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I made my mum dance on my wedding!
(She never dances.)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to cook and bake!
My husband, Jaroslav, can teach you how to play guitar.
We can also make you a quick tour around Ostrava.
I would love to learn from you - whatever you find important or special!
What I Can Share with Hosts
First of all, my food. Fully plant-based, but will catch everyone's heart.
Second of all, our library. My husband taught me a really, really bad habit: buying books I like.
And of course, an extra bed for two and, a large bathroom, some breakfast and wi-fi access.
