About Me

Hi! My name is Cécile and I am History and Business student from France. Like many other couchsurfers, I am passionate about traveling, sharing stories, learning new languages... I don't really know what to do with my life right now: I am at that age when you ask yourself too many questions and don't get any answers. I can't cook correctly but I am very eager to learn, I love telling stories and listening to yours. We can speak English, French, German or Spanish as you prefer, and I also want to learn Portuguese, Arabic and Turkish - so somehow we should manage understanding each other! Have a wonderful day

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have been traveling in a few countries for a few years already, mostly in youth hostels and Airbnb, and I wish I could know better the people of the countries I am traveling through. I love meeting new people, hearing their stories, sharing their food. I feel like Couchsurfing is just the right way to do so. Plus I don't have enough space in my flat right now to host people, but as soon as I do, I plan on being an active Couchsurfing host.

Music, Movies, and Books

Recommending books is so hard! You should have a look at Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's work on feminism, and Daniel Arasse's one on history of art.

I would recommend you listen to Gaël Faye's political music if you're a French speaker, and to the Galway Street Club (I just discover them and I think they're worth a free promotion!).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was in Villa de Leyva, Colombia, feeling sad on the main square. A 2-years-old Colombian little girl just came to me and gave me a wristband before going away. I think this was the most genuine act of kindness I ever experimented.
