About Me

Hello everyone, I'm Andre, nice to meet you all.

I was born in a small but cozy city next to Rio de Janeiro called Sao Joao de Meriti. However, most of us work and study in Rio so it feels like our second home. I love traveling to get to know new sights, people, cultures, habits, tastes and as such I spend most of my free time on the road, looking for new places to go. If you love searching for some extra info about everything, I'd be more than pleased to share what I've learned with you.

I love being outdoors, especially close to the nature. Be it mountains, rivers or just beaches, I love them all. It feels like their energy recharges my mind and keeps me calm and happy, it's amazing. I enjoy many indoors activities as well, even simply going to the bar or restaurant to hang out and talk with my friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've just had my first experience outside my country and it made me realize that getting to visit places together is so much better. I'd love to show everyone all that my city (or why not my state?) has to offer, receive some tips about great locations to explore and make some friends along the way. My friends have been using Couchsurfing for a while and all of them are super happy about the experience, so I decided to give it a try. I'm sure it's gonna be an exciting experience to know people who might share the same passion for traveling as I have.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've worked for the Brazilian navy during some time and despite all the hardships, I managed to go up the ranks and receive some special recognition along with a fancy title and extra duties (hehe). I started as the 138th amongst 220 others guys and by the time I left, I was the 4th in the ranks. It was important to me because everyone deemed it to be impossible, given some obstacles that I had to overcome, but my family always believed in me and gave me the courage I needed to keep trying, no matter what. Unfortunately, by the time I achieved my goal, my father had departed already but just the thought of making him proud fills my heart with joy.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've worked as chemistry teacher but I tend to share some bits of knowledge with everyone who might be interested. Geography, physics, history, politics..it's my ultimate pleasure to acquire and share new information with the others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My passion for the nature, all the amazing places my area has to offer should them ever decide to go there, a nice conversation about life, universe and everything else and company to hang out doing something else, get some good laughs and enjoy life itself.
