About Me

Hellooo (-:

I'm Jupiter (my real name is Joep). I'm a positive, colorful guy from Holland (like: Amsterdam and around) and I've lived in Berlin for the last 9 years. Late-November, I am moving to Melbourne in Australia.

Actually, I have (a lot of) experience as a host when I lived in Amsterdam - but I deleted my Couch Surf account in 2009. Anyway: I know what the Couch Surf-spirit is and what makes a good guest.
For the rest, I've seen most of the European countries + traveled a few weeks in South-East Asia.

For a relaxing holiday, I'm visiting Taiwan from the 15th till the 26th of November. The plan is to start and end in Taipei (15-17th + 23rd-26th). During the week (17th till 22nd) I'm trying to see some pretty places // nature on the east-coast! (....As well as some places from the (Dutch) colonial past on the west-coast, that I expect to be the less pretty places)

Within Taipei, I plan to go to cinemas, bars/a club, parks, restaurants/food-trucks and musea. I am also open for other things, like an amusement park or so!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's not very easy for me, to travel alone and start conversations. So, CouchSurfing is an extra chance to meet people. (-:

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Tame Impala, The Dandy Warhols, Madonna, Kylie Minoque... Pop, basically!

Movies: Apocalypse Now, Trainspotting, From Dusk till Dawn, The Salesman, The Square... That makes: comedy, family-drama and sometimes even an (ironic) action-film

Books: a lot, but mostly academic

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've started weblogs. One, about history in Berlin (very informative). The other one is more fun, called History for Hipsters.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm happy to make breakfast/cook and do dishes in return (-:

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Netherlands
