About Me

Hi, I'm Ania. I'm a historian and a teacher, a co - author of a guidebook around Bytom and its neighbourhood. Travelling pushed me to study history and social studies. That's how I become a teacher, who wants to share her passion with students.
In my free time I horse ride, swim, cycle, hike in the mountains with my family, hang out with my friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Making new friends, learning new cultures, and the possibility of using foreign languages, always motivated me to travel. Since we are the owners of a small but cozy flat, we can also be hosts to many interesting people. And we can show them traditional Polish hospitality. That's why I joined Couchsurfing!

Music, Movies, and Books

It isn't very easy to say in a few words, what do I like reading or watching.

There are some voices I fell in love with: the deep whispering voice of Leonard Cohen, hoars sound of Zaz or 8-octaves of Freddie Mercury.
Besides that, I enjoy listening to soundtracks while driving -"The Piano" by Michael Nyman or "The Mission" by Ennio Morricone are my favorite.

I adore provoking movies of Pedro Almodovar and Asghar Farhadi. Still, I appreciate the films of late Polish director Krzysztof Kieślowski, too.
I read historical books - mostly biographies.
However, "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Marquez is the book of my life.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I fell in love

Teach, Learn, Share

"Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
- Mahatma Gandhi

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my smile. Anyone can count on Prince Polo - famous Polish sweets;)

If I have time, I will willingly hang out with my guests, but if I don't, the only thing I can offer is the couch.
