About Me
Merhaba, hello, sziasztok!
I'm Deniz or as my friends call me Dıbık, Deno, Kotan, Koty, Koto. I’m from Istanbul but I've been living in Ankara for a while now and it wouldn't be the worst thing to say that I feel like I'm from Ankara. I was born and raised in Istanbul so I'm a local in case you need any help about our beautiful Istanbul. I moved to Ankara for my studies, I study International Relations at Hacettepe University (Yay go Red Deers!) and even though most of the people in Turkey hate Ankara, I assure you it is an amazing city and I'd be happy to show you around!
I'm an extremely talkative person and I don't think I run out of topics ever. Sometimes I have so many stories to tell so if you feel like I'm talking too much, do not hesitate to warn me about that. Besides talking, I love traveling and discovering cities, cultures and people! For me, traveling is more than just an activity. I know that it sounds so cliche but I rediscovered myself during my travels.
I'm all about beer, coffee and tomatoes; I can live just with those three and I would love to try local beers, coffees and for sure to eat some good tomatoes. Since the cuisine is a giant part of the culture, I'm into trying local cuisine in order to understand people better. I love flowers and animals so much that sometimes I get distracted when I see flowers or animals; sorry for that already.
I have always defined myself as a writer because I am writing stories and other stuff since I was six. I also take photos a lot, it is because I feel like I'm collecting memories as I take photos. And I volunteer in civil society organizations because c'mon it feels amazing to work for world peace!
