Hello!
My name is Martinha and I've been traveling for the past 4 years of my beautiful life. Until now I've never went outside Europe to travel, this is going to be my first time! I've been traveling with my best friend Yoshi (a dog), we hitchhike and camp, we play street music and are a very happy couple. Now I'm going on my first solo travel, Yoshi stays in Europe and I go to southeast asia, and, for this, I thought it would be a good ideia to join this platform.
I really love comunity life, it's been a really important part of my journey- I love to connect with people and organize my days with them, have freedom to create together, be creative, enjoy life, laugh!
Art is my way of comunicating: music, paiting, dancing, talking, breathing...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I don't want to be in the tourist circle. I want to meet people from the places I'm traveling, eat the food that you enjoy, learn to speek the languages, get involved in the communities.
Until now I've been hitchhiking in Europe and I've been camping and living in communities, so I didn't really need to create a couchsurfing account (also, a lot of friends told me that in Europe couchsurfing doesn't work so good,I don't know if it's true or not but I didn't try...) But now, in Southeast Asia I had no idea how to find places to sleep and I didn't bring my tent or my dog, so I don't really feel so sure about just sleeping anywhere.. so Couchsurfing!

I read a lot, I always have (at least) a book with me.
Music is very important for me... listening and making.
Movies... once in a wile, but I'm not really into looking at screens everyday

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling..
I started traveling with 21 years old, very little money, a dog and no clue of what I was doing. Traveling as a solo woman is considered very dangerous and even stupid, so I didn't have a lot of support or encouragement. But I did anyway, no fear of failing and going back to my mother's home. 4 years later and I'm still traveling. It's the most amazing life I could've chosen!! I cried like I never cried before, and I laughed like I've never laughed before. I started feeling everything so strongly and now I'm a addict! Love...
My mind and my heart oppened so much. We can do whatever we dreamed of, if we choose to follow our inner voice.

Skills...
I've been traveling for quite a wille now, and I've been living very different everyday. I can adapt quite easily and I'm a very good helper. I love to learn by helping people. I'm very creative and social.
I really enjoy cooking, specially for a lot of people. I get along really good with kids and animals. I love to create - this can be in a very wide definition of the word. I have a lot of practice in building, big and small scale, with very unortodox materials (recicled materials). I'm really good in solving situations with a smile, this can be social conflicts, to broken objects...

I'm really interested in gardening, specially permaculture or biodinamics. But I don't have much experience... So I will be searching for gardening projects to be able to learn. Natural medicinal plants, reforestation, tradicional nature loving!!
