Hello,

We are attempting to travel poetically from Australia to Europe onland. We use couchsurfing to stay with local host and not necessarily to see tourist sites (we prefer a leisurely stroll rather than b-lining to tourist sites) we do enjoy tourist sites but more often than not it is emotionally and financially straining. As artists enjoy the chance encounter and simple pleasures + coffee + dessert .

We are from Melbourne (Naarm) in Australia where we work with the community, make art and like exploring.

We are rather quiet people, introverted, chill and easygoing.(Maybe we are quite the opposite of the stereotypical Australia) and as guests we look for couchsurfing hosts along the way who we can stay with to learn local knowledge.

We have lived in Australia for our whole lives and have a lot to say about the country, such as it's geography, animals and its politics (although only from our perspective).

As practising visual artists we have had exhibitions around Australia and completed our art school studies.

We have also worked across multiple museums and art galleries throughout Australia.

One very important aspect of travelling for us is to learn about processes and materials that are relevant to that area or people's. Such as how a house is built or the kind of thread or colour that is used for making clothes.

We are both painters, video makers, printmakers and sculptors.

Art is important and we often go to see local art shows in the neighbourhood.

We have both pursued high education at universities so for better or for worse enjoy being critical and intellectual. Therefore we also especially enjoy places like libraries, parks and cafes (haha).

Some interests are critical theory and philosophy, such as some of the continental thinkers or Marxist writers. We also watch cinema and film, most recently we enjoy Pedro almodovar, Jean Luc Goddard and Luka dwells in Zombie movies. Wee also like skateboarding, graffiti, exploring abandoned buildings and having a good time on the town.

And some other interests include :

Folktales, migrations facts, PUNK thinking, Abandoned buildings, local secrets, ""🌿"" cough cough, and food foraging are of a particular interest - if you as the host can offer any insight into this it would be greatly appreciated ! ! !
