About Me
Hello!
My name is Anna, I'm from the North East region of the United States. I study Geology and Geographic Information Systems at West Virginia University. I've recently mustered up the courage to buy a one-way ticket to Europe ( a big dream of mine for many years) and am very excited to make my way to some beautiful countries.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to travel and enrich my life through meeting new people, trying new things , and being as little of a "tourist" as possible. Making deep connections with new friends and places is the dream. I was recommended to use this cite by a lot of other fellow travelers and think its a smart way to travel.

Music, Movies, and Books
Im a big fan of fantasy and sci-fi movies and books! My favorite author is Patrick Rothfuss, who wrote The Name of the Wind. I love being transported into new places in a book or movie. I try and read a non-fiction book every know and then, usually science or culture related. I'm a huge renaissance fair fan too! Id love to know about all kinds of local fairs and festivities ( my home town is the mushroom capital of the world and had a mushroom festival) :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I started and maintained my own business to sell my art throughout college. I've been a potter for about 6 years and currently own Mountain Mama Pottery, a handmade pottery label (all made by me!). I sell at two local West Virginia Shops and do individual commissions on etsy. I sell mostly mugs because tea in the morning is somehow very personal to me and it makes me happy knowing that people are cozy and starting/ending their day holding my pieces :')
Teach, Learn, Share
Im trying my best to brush up and be as proficient as possible in languages such as French, Spanish, German, Italian...and hopefully many more!! Any help and assistance learning a new language would help me a lot on my trip. Also I loveeeee learning new ways to cook, and I can make a mean stir fry. I have no luck making a good bread....so if you can make a decent loaf please help me haha
What I Can Share with Hosts
I know a lot about rocks! and a strange amount about tea (I worked at a tea shop for 4 years)!! ahh so if any of those random bits of knowledge sound interesting I'm your girl. Also i'm very very easily entertained, so theres no fuss with being worried I wont enjoy the stay.
