About Me

I moved from the busy city of Singapore to the perpetual winter in Oslo since mid-2018 due to work. I have since been trying to catch up on all the hiking I haven’t been doing before and just soaking up the grandness of nature and enjoying the luxury of space whenever possible.
I work with a company that ships LNG. I’m interested to talk about any energy related ideas and issues. I sort of worship bill gates for his promotion of nuclear. And his general love for reading.
I travel whenever I can. I usually kick off on my own and without much planning and involving plenty of panic attacks. But always end up thoroughly humbled by beautiful encounters and near magical coincidences. I think it’s the effect of keeping minds open and being absolutely present - which is what I always try to remember and go back to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love my humble little space in Oslo and want to share it with someone who wouldn’t mind. I’m always curious about how differently people may view this same world I am also living in.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love powerful voices, clever arrangements and high quality sounds. Movie: Lord of the Ring (always!); Les Mis; Wonder (2019) - and all that portrays complexity of humanity. And most documentaries. Books: A little life, Yuval Noah Harari’s works, the signature of all things (historical fiction).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Erm... I always survive the occasional migraines.

Teach, Learn, Share

Would you like to learn to speak some mandarin?
I could cook Chinese cuisine... if you agree it’s really oyster sauce with whatever! :p
I would share why I think Asia both is and isn’t a single culture.
If you play the guitar I would try to sing along :)
