Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel even, if unfortunately I can't do it often and soon I will face my first trip abroad alone. Since i'm  a shy person and I don't speak English very well, i'm a little scared and I hope this opportunity will give me new inspiration.

Interests

I work as an educator in a nursery school and this year I started studying Education Sciences at the University again.
I love sewing, a passion I inherited from my grandmother, for this reason I approached the world of recycling and re-use and fashion. Since four years I have been dealing with the organization of the Flea Market Palermo, an itinerant flea market that takes place every sunday in some squares of the city, and where it is possible to buy and exchange clothes, shoes, objects, vinyl and so on.
In the past year , I discovered the pleasure of singing and playing the ukulele, that I received as a birthday present from my best friends. Playing helps me especially in moments of sadness. I also love taking long walks, the ones that lift your mood, I love cycling, going to the beach or mountains with my dog and ​​doing yoga.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, without I could not end my days. I listen to any type of music as long as it makes me feel good, but my favorite genres are post punk and new wave. My favorite singers are Johnny Cash and Morrissey.
I love reading even if i never have enough time to do it. One of my favorite books is “Il visconte dimezzato” di Italo Calvino, one of my favorite authors. Right now i'm reading “L'arte della gioia” di Goliarda Sapienza.
I love movies and every monday I go to the cinema to see movies in their original language from a film exhibition called “supercineclub”.
My favorite directors are Hitchcock, Tarantino, Lynch, Burton, Truffaut, Ozpetek, Godard, Fellini, Joel e Ethan Coen, recently rediscovered a love for Woody Allen movies. One of my favorite movies is "La donna che visse due volte (Vertigo). My favorite actor is Joaquin Phoenix.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can offer my love and knowledge of the typical cuisine of Palermo, in particular the traditional recipes I learned from my grandmother. One of my favorite dishes is Parmigiana.
