I live in Hopeman, which is a village on the Moray Coast about 7 miles from Elgin in the north east of Scotland. This part of Scotland is “whisky country” and there are lots of distilleries not too far away.
I live with my husband,Chris, daughter, Katie, and our two cats.
My husband and I both work at the hospital in Inverness and Katie is a primary school teacher.
We are originally from Glasgow but moved north to Hopeman in 2002.
Hopeman is a small village with just a few shops and a pub but is a thriving and busy community and a great place to live.
There is a small harbour and two nice beaches - we often see dolphins swimming past .
There is a train station in Elgin which connects to both Aberdeen and Inverness and a bus from Elgin to Hopeman though, if possible, we would be happy to meet and pick guests up in Elgin.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My son is currently walking across Europe and benefitting from
being hosted by the couch surfing community so I though it would be appropriate to become a host and offer similar hospitality to other travellers.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading and read loads so a favourite book is always hard to pick - favourite authors include Isabelle Allende, Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Ian McEwan and Maggie O’Farrell.
I am a big fan of traditional Celtic music and contemporary singer songwriters but am open to giving anything a listen.
For movies, I like drama, romance and enjoy foreign language films too. Chris is more a thriller or action movie fan.
