About Me

Hi, I am Diego from Argentina.
I am a 33 years old history teacher, who loves the life outdoor and nature.
I am an amateur photographer too, for me the best plan when I am in a new city or place is just walk, for hours with me camera trying to find those special moments and capture them .
I love to do outdoor sports, and be in touch with the nature, specially climbing. I am from a city close to the mountains, so I can do rock climbing almost every weekend, camping in the nature and chilling there with friends. When I am climbing I feel like I am in my place in the world.
I was always pasionate for learning: about people, stories, cultures, history, traditions. I love to
be in touch with other ways of living and thinking, try to understand them, and share my own.
Currently I am travelling through Europe, a dream of many year that I am finally making it true.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am in Couchsurfing because I think is not possible to get to know a culture, a country or a city without knowing deeply the people who live there, who work there, who know the good and great but also the bad and awful things of that place. If you really want to know a place that you are visiting, you have to know the people who lives there, and share with them both their stories and yours, compare your different cultures and traditions. Get to know all the differences but also all the coincidences you have. And I think that Couchsurfing is a great opportunity to do that.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite music? Favorite book? Favorite movie? These questions were always difficult to answer to me. Because I can't choose my favorite.
I like the music, and I enjoy all kind of music, but depending on my mood. Some days I feel like Jazz, other days like reggae, or Latin music. If I have to choose I would say I prefer chilling music, not so loud, more relaxing.
About the books I love to read about history, anthropology, sociology and of course literature. A book who change my life was "Las venas abiertas de América Latina" de Eduardo Galeano. After read that book, I decided to study history.
And what to say about movies, I love movies. Again, almost all kind of movies (maybe not Horror ones, I can't make sense of them).
I like Studio Ghibli's animated movies a lot, and Tarantino and Allen ones as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share a phrase which I try to follow everyday: "Aprende cómo si fuera tu primer día de vida, y vive como si fuera el último". ("Learn as if it were your first day of life, and live as if it were your last."

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to cook, I love to hear life stories, I can teach Spanish language, Argentinian and South America history, and photography.
