About Me
Nice to meet worlwide couchsurfers !!
I find it complicated to describe myself, but I'll make it simple.
I am a French European volunteer in Moldova since June 2019. I live with different nationalities so we are used to sharing our cultures, our different interests.
I am a volunteer in an activist association that promotes social and human rights.
My volunteering does not completely define who I am. On the other hand, I feel like an artist at heart.
I play or rather I'm learning Ukélélé which for the moment is reduced to the tracks Hallelujah and What's up. I like to sing when my roommate plays guitar for the sake of his ears.
To escape and meditate, I like to write. I write a lot about my feelings, my anger and my love for the world.
I also try my hand at pencil drawing. Most of my friends' faces are in my notebooks.
My next goal is to paint in watercolour.
I try my best to be environmentally friendly. I have been a vegetarian for almost a year now and I try to limit animal products as much as possible (more complicated when I travel because I want to try local products and dishes).
Otherwise, I laugh easily at jokes, I make super lame jokes that no one understands...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I was a CS few years ago when I started travelling. I realized that it was a pleasant way to travel and especially to meet people. Especially people living in the country where I travel, so learn the culture, the language (some expressions...) and taste the local food.
Then it allows to discuss, to exchange on our points of view, our countries, to debate. And maybe learn new skills
It's a social way to travel and not only to do tourism.
Music, Movies, and Books
I have an immeasurable love for all of Wes Anderson's filmography, for the poetry that comes out of it.
I'm also a big fan of miyazaki and Ghibli studios.
The King's Speech, Call me by your name, Quentin Dupieux's movies, Love Actually, and blablabla.
Otherwise, with friends we have the "tradition" once a year to travel to the middle-earth thanks to The Lord of the Ring.
♫ ♫ - I think I have a very open-minded musical ear. My musical desires will depend on the mood I'm in or who I'm with. But for me I'm more of a 60's-70's rocker like The Velvet Underground, David Bowie, the Who, the Beatles ...
Books : Le coeur cousu by Carole Martinez, Nineteen Eighty-Four: A Novel (1984) by Georges Orwell, Heartsnatcher by Boris Vian
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My current adventure is already extraordinary. Leaving my family, friends, country, baguettes and cheese for a year. To set off on an adventure to live in a country that I knew absolutely nothing about before.
I had the same experience five years earlier in Ireland. I travelled with my boyfriend for a year all over Ireland doing CS and Wwoofing.
We rode the Croagh Patrick which is rather steep and stony.
I have hitchhiked in just about every country I have visited.
Teach, Learn, Share
I play the ukulele, still as a beginner but I can teach the chords I know to people who want to.
I like cooking very much, it can be an easy activity to share. Especially if it is about cakes and chocolate.
I played basketball for ten years, it remains a passion despite my current lack of practice. But I still have some good leftovers.
I'm currently learning Russian. I would like to be able to practice and learn more. It can be something to share. So can Spanish and English.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to talk about what I like, what other people like, what's going on in the world.
I like to share our musical tastes, listen to new music and make people discover it.
Just sharing my life, who I am, my interests and vice versa.
