About Me

Raised and borned in Elsass, on the border between France and Germany, I spent my youth in a bi-cultural environment. This upbringing, open to the cultures of the world, whetted my appetite for curiosity and the way in which I discovered other cultures. Now an architect in the making, I've never stopped travelling around my neighbourhood, my town, my country or the world to meet new people.

Evidence of this is the fact that I take every opportunity to explore my surroundings, both near and far, by hitch-hiking, sleeping in local's places, and working with them. I have an unquenchable thirst for learning new things, which often drives me to new places and off the beaten track.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, it is more than just a 'practical' exchange, much more a human exchange. Living with a local for few days allows me to more deeply understand the culture of the current region but is also often a real source of inspiration for me. In that sense, I would love to share moment of quality with you by sharing a drinks and talking about life. However, I also value the time spent alone, which allows me to appreciate more those spent in a group. I totally understand if you need your own space and will respect that.

Music, Movies, and Books

In all honesty, I think I've only recently rediscovered my taste for films, which was suffocated by the many series I used to watch. It was finally living with a Danish film buff for 6 months that made me enjoy watching films again. The last film that moved me was The Beast, as much for its themes as for its poetry and the aesthetics of the filming.
As regards music, I think I'm very open-minded and have a whole playlist that accompanies me at every moment of my life. These range from classical music to techno and jazz or rock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I like to think that life is an adventure and try to make the most of every moment. But to answer the question, I think the last experience that had a profound effect on me was my 6-month trip through Asia Minor and the Caucasus. I was pushed to my limits, which allowed me to (re)discover myself and others.
