Hello Travellers ✌🏻

I’m Furkan. I’m from Turkey and live in İstanbul. I have work as a Firefighter at İstanbul Airport for 5 years. This job was my childhood dream and I am really happy that I realized it.

I love traveling, meeting new people and different cultures. Couchsurfing is a great app for this. In my spare time I can show you around and give you advice about Istanbul.

I think the best way to explore a city is to walk. If you like walking, we can walk the streets of the old city together and explore the city. Don't worry, even if you don't like walking, we can still meet and drink coffee or Turkish tea :)

After the pandemic, I decided to build my own caravan. I started working to build my caravan in 2022, and after 1 year, I was able to finish my caravan. Currently, I make many trips in Turkey with my van. Maybe one day I will come to your city with my van and make you Turkish tea.

I don't live in my van full time. I live with my family in Esenler, Istanbul. I can't always host because I work shifts. Even if I cannot host you at my home, you can ask any questions you may have without hesitation. I will try to help as much as possible.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While exploring a city, I realized how important the advice of local people is. Coucsurfing is a great app for this. I want to help other travelers as much as I can. I use this application to give advice about my city and even explore the streets of the city together. It feels privileged to meet other travelers or local people during my travels and become a part of their culture.
