Overview
About Me
Hello, I'm Chun Yu, born and raised in China and currently studying English Education in Malaysia and will be a future teacher soon! I'm also an AIESECer if you happen to know about this organisation hahaha.
I am very passionate about travelling and I have been to several countries including Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, Czech Republic, Malaysia and Singapore. My goal in 2024 is to explore more new places in South East Asia as I am going to graduate next year and I need to grasp any free time I have to travel around and learn more cultures.
I wish to explore more of the world and make friends with people from different cultures and backgrounds!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a very good platform for me to get to know more local cultures when I am travelling in new places or countries. I want to make more friends and experience more local things.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am a easy-changing and diverse person and I like a lot of movies. Lately, I like listening to R&B and post-punk music. As for movies and books, I am quite interested in anthropology-related documentaries and non-fiction books because I like knowing more about different cultures, especially those aboriginal tribes.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing I have ever done was that I secretly applied for universities abroad without informing any of my family members, and until I received the offer letter, did I tell my mom that I was going to study in another country. This decision has really widened my horizon and worldview and I am still very proud of the decision I have made.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my personal stories, my culture and the cultures I have experienced before. I am also a good listener and I enjoy listening to others' stories as well.
