About Me
Hi there! 🌍
I'm Maya, a passionate Neuropsychologist hailing from the beautiful small city of Girona. 🧠
When I'm not working, you'll find me immersed in the worlds of Ghibli and anime. I'm a dedicated cosplayer (and sometimes drag artist) and love bringing my favorite characters to life, and I also enjoy expressing myself through music, whether it's singing or playing instruments like the guitar, mandolin, or bass. 🎶🎭
By day, I'm devoted to my work as a Psychologist at a nursing home, where I focus on the mental well-being of the elderly. Their stories and wisdom inspire me every day. 👩🏻⚕️
By night, I take on a different role as a gender equality technician at local events, where I assist women and LGBTQ+ individuals who might need support in unsafe situations. This work is deeply meaningful to me, as it aligns with my commitment to social justice and equality. ♀️🏳️🌈
I'm also a big fan of cooking (especially vegetarian dishes) and love caring for animals. Technology fascinates me, and I always enjoy diving into conversations about politics, science, and social issues. I'm fluent in English, Spanish, and Catalan, which makes it easier to connect with people from different backgrounds.
Staying active is important to me, so you'll often find me practicing yoga or hiking through the stunning landscapes around Girona. I strive to stay fit and strong, both in body and mind. 🧘♀️
Above all, I'm open-minded and easy-going, and I believe the best conversations happen under a sky full of stars. Whether it's discussing deep topics or just sharing stories, I'm always up for a good chat. ⭐

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
🔭 Thanks to a scholarship, I had the incredible opportunity to stay at an Astronomy Observatory in the Italian Alps, where I was surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the night sky.
🚐 I embarked on an unforgettable road trip through California, exploring its diverse landscapes in a van.
🥾 I hiked a portion of the iconic Camino de Santiago, soaking in the rich history and culture along the way.
🚂 I’ve done Interrail through Europe three times, with each journey offering new adventures and lasting memories.
🐒 While in Thailand, a playful baby monkey gave me a gentle bite, leading to a precautionary rabies vaccine. Thankfully, it was all in good fun, and the monkey was absolutely adorable!
🌟 I launched an artistic career under the name of a guy who once lent me his Interrail pass. His name, Patrik Horny, was too amusing to resist, and now I’m somewhat famous in my city for performing shows under that name.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m passionate about cooking and can whip up delicious vegan and vegetarian meals. I also have experience in gardening and animal care, so I'm more than happy to lend a hand with anything you need (including home tasks!)
Beyond that, I’d love to swap travel stories and join in on any adventures or plans you’d like to share with me!
