Hello - we’re Alan and Angela. We have an average age of 52 (Alan is slightly older and Angela is slightly younger). We live in Hertfordshire, UK. Our children are grown up so now we are taking as much time as possible to travel. We might be older than your usual traveller but that means we have lots of life experience to offer.

We are currently planning a trip that circumnavigates the globe when Covid allows (we are both fully Covid (x4) vaccinated). We hope to stay for 1 month at each location.
In the last few years we have had adventures in China, the Himalayas and the Maldives, but in the past we have had lots of visits around Europe too.

Currently, Alan is a bookkeeper, and for 12 years Angela had a business walking dogs and looking after peoples pets (including house sitting).

In the past Alan has also been a Tennis Coach and Angela has been a Scout Leader. For these reasons we’ve both been DBS/police checked to allow us to work with children.

Alan’s big passion is sport. He’s been playing tennis since he was a teenager and he runs daily. He is learning to play guitar. He would like to learn to cook a variety of dishes from around the world. Perhaps you can show him something traditional from your part of the world?

Angela’s passion is art and craft. She can turn her hand to most things from sewing to creating websites. She loves being in the garden and spends her spare time making things. She regularly practices Pilates.

When our two children were small we had au pairs to help us care for them. Being able to help another family in a similar way is really exciting to us. We're still in contact with our Au Pairs MANY years later.

We both drive (more than 30 years - clean licences), are non-smokers, and are active. We are both fully Covid vaccinated. We are tidy and quiet, independent, and respect other people’s privacy, but we are also happy to join with your family if you’d like us to and would like you to teach us about your part of the world.

We speak a (very, VERY) little bit of French and Angela speaks some basic Spanish, although we understand more than we can speak. Google translate is a wonderful invention!

We’re willing to help with most things but we are unable to do lots of heavy work eg big building, lifting etc. - our minds are willing, our bodies are not! This doesn’t mean we can’t do any physical work; we just have to be careful how much we do. If you want someone to do construction all day, everyday that’s not us but a little is good. It will help to keep us fit.
