About Me
My name is Thomas, I am 22 and I am currently living in Copenhagen. This is the first time I live abroad for such a long time, as I grew up in Colmar, in Alsace, before moving to Lyon, and then Nantes.
I moved here because I have realized in recent years that I am happiest when I am able to discover new things: people, cities, experiences, … Probably because I am someone who is rather adventurous but also compassionate and open-minded.
It took some time to get out of my comfort zone though. I traveled solo for the first time in January 2025 and I had an amazing time doing so. One reason for that was that I had my first CS experiences then and I loved it. I now always look forward to the next time I will be able to go on an adventure and couchsurf.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love meeting people from the community, they have inspired me in so many ways, from the travelers that gave with so many ideas of great trips to do in the future to the caring hosts that pushed me to be more positive on a daily basis. Each story is of great value to me.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love movie soundtracks, which is why I am a big fan of Hans Zimmer and Ludovico Einaudi, but my favorites are a bit less known (Rob Simonsen, Alexandre Desplats, Angus MacRae, Bryce Dessner, ...)
My favourite movies are quite diverse: Interstellar, Gladiator, Soul, poor things, 12 angry men, ...

I usually read whatever English book I find at the library :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the greatest adventures I’ve undertaken so far has been my road trip across Denmark in January 2025.
Firstly, because it was my very first road trip. I had never traveled solo before, nor had I ever been on such a long journey, even with my family. So the adventure was twofold : discovering a new country and discovering what it meant to rely solely on myself.
Secondly, because it was also my first experience using Couchsurfing. That, in itself, felt like an adventure—figuring out how the platform worked, understanding the unspoken rules and learning how to approach hosts while navigating the uncertainty of what to expect from each stay.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, because I chose to do this first road trip in Denmark in the middle of winter. The timing wasn’t entirely up to me. I had a one-month break and was eager to explore the country before settling in Copenhagen. However, I quickly realized that traveling through Denmark at that time of year came with its fair share of challenges. The weather was harsh, daylight was scarce, and many museums, restaurants, and hostels were closed for the season. There were moments when I found myself well outside my comfort zone doing things I had never done before, like hitchhiking, simply because I had no other option.
But precisely because of those challenges, the journey was all the more rewarding. It pushed me to adapt, to connect with people in unexpected ways and to embrace the unpredictable nature of travel !
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m always eager to share all kinds of experiences with my hosts, whether it is chatting late into the night, exploring a city together, trying out windsurfing, cooking, ... I love discovering new things... and giving back in any way possible.
I am also really looking forward to exchanging about our respective countries and cultures.
